  • payback records your coding-agent sessions so that sessions on public repositories can become environments licensed to AI labs. That is the business and the main thing we do with your data.
  • A lab receives the public repository, your prompts and the transcript. No account information is attached.
  • Prompts and transcripts are recorded as they are; secret-named files are left out of snapshots, but nothing you type is filtered on your machine.
  • You can pause, choose which repositories are recorded, exclude a repository, delete a capture, sign out or uninstall at any time.
  • Product analytics go to Mixpanel, tied to your GitHub login; never prompts, code, file paths, IP addresses or email.
The full policy, including what we keep for sign-in, machines and payouts, is at payback.sh/privacy.
