# Deleting your data

> How to delete a capture, stop recording, uninstall, and remove everything we hold.

* **One capture:** `payback delete <capture_id>` removes it from your machine and deletes its record and repository snapshot on our side.
* **One repository:** `payback off` inside it stops any further recording. Captures already uploaded stay until deleted.
* **This machine:** `payback uninstall` removes the hooks from every agent and the background timers. Files under `~/.payback` remain; delete the directory to remove local copies.
* **Everything:** write to [founders@payback.sh](mailto:founders@payback.sh) to delete your account and everything we hold, including sessions already licensed where the agreement allows.

Deleting a session and excluding a repository from the account page are coming.
